Sentinel

When one market reaches a price, trade another. Your conditional orders, carried out on your account while you are away from the screen.

A rule, in one sentence

When XAUUSD is at or below 2,490, then buy 0.5 lots EURUSD at market, stop 1.0950, target 1.1100.

That is the whole thing. You stop watching gold; the agent on your computer watches it on your broker's feed and places the EURUSD trade the moment the level prints, with the stop and target already attached. The dashboard shows the price it saw and the fill it got.

How it works

  • You write a rule in two halves: when a market is at or above, or at or below, a price; then buy or sell another market with the lots, stop and target you choose.
  • Prices come from your own broker's feed in your own terminal, so a rule fires on the price you see, never on a feed that could disagree with it.
  • Market orders fill at the next price. Limit orders wait for your price and are held by the agent, so stopping the agent cancels them cleanly.
  • Repeat rules re-arm when price crosses back. Expiry removes a rule that has not fired. Cancel groups tie rules together so a breakout either way leaves one position, not two.
  • Your Sentinel risk settings apply: lots are capped so the loss at a rule's stop never exceeds your daily risk, and the daily and total loss stops halt it like any agent.
  • It never touches trades it did not open, never modifies your manual positions, and reports every fire, expiry and error back to your dashboard with the price it saw.
What it does
  • Watch any symbol your broker offers and fire on a price level
  • Place market or limit orders with stop and target on any other symbol
  • Fire once or every time price crosses the level
  • Expire rules by time and cancel the rest of a group when one fires
  • Cap lots to your daily-risk setting when a rule has a stop
  • Report every outcome to the dashboard with the price seen
What it never does
  • Decide what to trade: there is no strategy inside it
  • Run while your computer is off: rules live on your machine
  • Touch positions it did not open
  • Exceed your daily or total loss stops
  • See your broker password or your money

Why there is no record on this page

A strategy agent earns its place with a dated record because it decides what to trade. Sentinel decides nothing: it carries out your rule, so its result is your rule's result. What we can promise, and test, is the mechanics: it fires on the first qualifying quote, it attaches the stop and target you set, it caps lots to your daily risk, and it never touches a trade it did not open. Those tests ship with the agent.
